Wax begonias are great as bedding plants or in containers in a shaded or partly sunny location. They will tolerate deep shade well. They prefer not being exposed to hot mid-day sun. They are more drought tolerant than most other shade annuals like impatiens and flower all season without deadheading. In fact, they rarely need any care other than watering. Best in moist, well-drained soil. Soil should dry a little between waterings.
Note that some varieties have green leaves and others have bronze (dark) leaves.
